Abstract

This study aim to provide an overview of learning about communicative approach. Communicative competence includes the knowledge that the speakers have about language behavior or speech behaviors, and about what constitutes effective language behavior in relation to the objectives communicative. Therefore, it includes linguistic knowledge and pragmatic knowledge. Meanwhile, 'communicative performance' consists of the actual usage of these two types of knowledge-linguistic and pragmatic knowledge-in understanding and producing discourse. Thus, communicative performance is a manifestation of one's communicative competence in communication, and is essentially identical with language behavior.
