Abstract
This term-paper is discussed about an annotated translation in On the Come Up novel by Angie Thomas that are focused on the problem in translating linguistic and cultural aspects, for instance, idiomatic expressions and cultural words or terms those are difficult to be translated. This research uses qualitative method with theories of translation. By annotating, I explain the reasons of chosen meanings in the target language and methods or procedures as well. The aims of this research is to find idiomatic expressions and cultural words or terms to be translated with annotation as below mentioned and to find the most dominant translation methods, procedures or techniques (Newmark, 1988 and Hoed, 2006) applied in the annotated translation to represent the equivalent meaning of source language in the target language.
