Abstract
The process of translating a written text from one language to another, particularly from Indonesian to English (or other language) and vice versa, needs practical knowledge of both source language and target language. It is due to the fact that, between the two languages, there lies highly inherent socio-cultural features or sui generis. The capabilities of the translator in making rhetoric and using logic become crucial ones. There are several things to consider in order to get dynamic equivalence in translation; they are audience design and need analysis, methods of translation, register, and correctness. This qualitative research will focus on the classification of text register based on the methods of translation in Newmarks’s V Diagram. The specified register is then enriched with some applicative examples taken from everyday cases of translation practice. Disrupting issues are also discussed for differentiating classification.
