Abstract
One of the favorite Mexican American ethnic work is Bless Me Ultima written by Rudolfo Anaya. Some critics have been trying to show the values offered by this work. They have been analyzing through many approaches. This research tries to find out if there is special value in sociologically. Based on qualitative research and on the basic of social institution concept this research tries to prove that the theme is about the seeking of religious identity. After analyzing intrinsically and elaborating with the chosen concept it is found that the theme is true, the seeking of identity.
