Abstract

Grammatical error is difficult to be avoided by every learner. In Grade 7 students in Grow English Course, actually the students in this class are smart enough. But, sometimes they like to make grammatical errors in the sentences when they make writing. Because of that, analyzing the errors in writing is one of appropriate ways to know student’s ability. It will help the teachers also as a tool to make better lesson plan and strategies in teaching. And, for other researchers, they can use this term paper as their journal to get some ideas and better understanding. The result of this research, the researcher finds 4 types of error in the students’ writing by using Corder theory. The types of errors from Corder theory are Error of Omission, Error of Selection, Error of Addition, and Error of Ordering. Keywords: Grammar, Writing, Error, Students, English. Kesalahan struktur tata bahasa sulit dihindari oleh setiap peserta didik. Pada murid-murid level 7 di Grow English Course, sebenarnya murid-murid di kelas ini cukup pintar. Tetapi, terkadang mereka suka membuat kesalahan dalam kalimat tersebut ketika mereka membuat karangan. Sebab itu, menganalisa kesalahan dalam karangan merupakan salah satu cara yang tepat untuk mengetahui kemampuan para murid. Ini akan membantu guru juga sebagai alat untuk membuat rencana pelajaran dan strategi pengajaran yang lebih baik. Dan, bagi peneliti lain, mereka bisa menggunakan makalah ini sebagai jurnal mereka untuk mendapatkan beberapa gagasan dan pemahaman yang lebih baik. Hasil penelitian ini, peneliti menemukan 4 jenis kesalahan pada penulisan karangan murid-murid dengan menggunakan teori Corder. Jenis kesalahannya menurut teori Corder adalah Error of Omission, Error of Selection, Error of Addition, dan Error of Ordering. Kata kunci: Tata Bahasa, Penulisan, Kesalahan, Siswa, Bahasa Inggris.
