Abstract
This term paper describes the theme of literature based on a novel. It uses instrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Intrinsic approach uses the concept of characterization, setting, and plot. Extrinsic approach uses the concept of racial discrimination. This is a kind of qualitative research with the literature study in interpretative characteristic combined with document collecting method in a form of literary text from a novel titled "To Kill A Mockingbird" by Harper Lee as a primary sources and is supported by some literatures related to the theories, concept and definition as secondary sources.
