Abstract

This thesis discusses the novel Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora N. Hurston. The writer analyzes the thesis by using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches to prove the theme assumption. In analyzing theme of the novel, the writer uses library research references. Based on the result of research, the writer can conclude that the Janie's character is courageous. With her courage, she seeks her dreaming love and it ended by the fulfillment of her hierarchy of needs.
