Abstract
This thesis discusses the novel titled The Moon and Sixpence by William Somerset Maugham. The vwriter analyzes the thesis by using the intrinsic and extrinsic approach to prove the theme assumption. In analyzing theme of the novel, the writer uses the library and internet research references. Based on the research , the writer can conclude that the tragic freedom in this novel represented by Charles Strickland.
