This research is intended to analyse the depiction of postcolonialism theory in the novel Babel by R. F Kuang that focused on its impact in the protagonist Robin Swift’s cultural identity. This research analysed the plot, characterization, and setting as the intrinsic aspects through the approach of qualitative method. The extrinsic aspect includes the general theme of the novel that this journal aimed to cover which is the post-colonialism theory by Homi K. Bhabha. Other supporting references are also citated in this research, including the books, journals, and thesis that previously covered the theory and its related themes. The main focus on using Homi K. Bhabha’s post-colonialism theory is to emphasise on the formulations of mimicry, hybridity, and ambivalence and its elaboration on the novel’s plot, character, and setting. Thus, with post-colonialism as the main theme on the research, the outcome is aimed to dissect the sociology, cultural, and historical aspects as the branches of the general idea. The research concludes that postcolonial theory shapes Robin Swift’s cultural identity and personality in Babel with Homi K. Bhabha’s concepts of mimicry, hybridity, and ambivalence are central to his character arc.
