Abstract

Term paper entitled “Conversational Implicature in the Interview Of Hillary Clinton with Kara Swisher on Recode Decode at The 92nd Street” contains analysis of conversational implicature.This term paper discusses about the violation of maxim generated to conversational and the types of conversational implicature. The writer uses the theoritical principle of cooperation from Grice. Grice divides conversational implicature intotwo types, those are generalized conversational implicature and particularized conversational implicature. The speakers use implicatures when they speak, yet the hearers can understand, it shows that implicature is effective enough to be used incommunication. The conversational implicature can occur because there is diferrent shared knowledge between the speaker and the hearer that cause misunderstanding.This research was analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method. Descriptive qualitative is a method that concern on structure and pattern.The research method is descriptive qualitative method.
