Abstract

Code switching is one of the linguistics phenomenon in daily activities. This paper is entitled The Use of English Indonesian Code Switching In Social Media Instagram Used By Agnez Mo, which in this research discuss the phenomenon of code switching. The aims of this research are to find the types of code switching and to find the reasons of using code switching in social media instagram that used by Agnez Mo. And also to classify the kinds of grammatical problems in Agnez Mo caption. The research uses descriptive qualitative approach. The data are collected from the caption photos of Agnez Mo in her social media instagram. And also the video of Agnez Mo that she upload on her instagram. This study applies the theory proposed by Thuy Nguyen (2015) to classify the types of code switching, and the theory of Hoffman in Kisno Pardede (2012) to describe the reason of using code switching. And grammatical problems in theory of Hollister (2014).
