Abstract

This term paper discusses about a literary work especially a film. The problem that will be analyzed is Depression caused by love on character of Cal. It will be analyzed by using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts applied are: characterization - showing method, setting, plot, and theme, and for the extrinsic approach, the concepts are: Depression and Love. This term paper uses qualitative rethod by collecting data in a form of the film entitled Crazy Stupid Love by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa as the primary source and is supported by some literature that relate to the theories and concepts as the secondary sources. In this research it is proved that loveof Cal character to Emily can make him depression.
