Abstract

This research aims to analyse the classification of emotion reflected by the characters in the film script Turning Red as the object of research by using the psychology of literature approach. Through the psychology of literature approach, this research has intrinsic and extrinsic elements to support the topic of the research. Through intrinsic elements, this research focuses on the internal part of intrinsic elements such as characterisation, plot, and setting. Meanwhile, the extrinsic focus is on the classification of emotion experienced by the main character, Meilin Lee during her growth as a teenager, namely shame, sadness, guilt, anger, and love which these emotions arise due to surrounding factors that affect the character. The method used in this research is descriptive narrative of qualitative method. The findings in this study can be summarised by elaborating the intrinsic and extrinsic elements according to the research topic.
