Abstract
This term paper discusses about annotated translation of Kate Morton’s Novel The Clockmaker’s Daughter using theories of translation by Newmark. This research focuses on answering two formulation of problems as follows: 1) word, phrase, or clause in The Clockmaker’s Daughter that could cause misinterpretation, 2) methods and procedures that are used in doing annotated translation. This research uses qualitative research approach by analyzing the word, phrase, or clause in the novel using Newmark’s translation methods and procedures. The result of the research shows that there are words, phrases, and clauses that have potential to cause misinterpretation in the The Clockmaker’s Daughter novel, also show the methods and procedures that are used in doing the annotated translation.
