Abstract
The discussion in this term paper is annotated translation. The source language in this study is English and the target language is Indonesian Language. This study uses qualitative approach and content analysis as the method. The objectives of this research are to provide an acceptable translation of words and phrases as the corpus in the novel “Infinity Son” by Adam Silvera by using methods and techniques that are used as references in this research. This study also provides a comprehensive explanation in shape of reason for the translation which is the main point of this research. In total, I have used 20 (twenty) data to be analyzed based on this research aim. There are 10 (ten) data classified as words and 10 (ten) as phrases. In this research, semantical method is the most frequently used in translating data because I have found many words or phrases that need exact semantical equivalents. In conducting this research, there are 5 (five) different techniques that are applied to the data, they are borrowing, contextual conditioning, mutual or formal, phonological, and cultural equivalent.
