Abstract

Japanese learners of Indonesian people use the pronoun "Watashi" (I) in Japanese both in written and oral variety. This is contrary to the fact that native speakers avoid using the pronoun "Watashi" in conversation. In terms of meaning, there is nothing wrong with the pattern of self-introduction as well as in the identification of a case relating to him, If you do a self-introduction to the patterns of communication will remain intertwined. However, in a pragmatic use of the first person pronoun is unusual and pronoun "Watashi" does not appear in the pattern of native self introduction first person. One of the closest and most predictable causes is the effect of the mother language. In Indonesia, people/Indonesian pretty much rely on the word "I" in communication. But with the condition of Indonesian learners who have limited contact with the Japanese, we assume that thare are others factors besides the influence of the mother tongue. From the analysis we can note that learners who learn Japanese in an environment that has more access to input Japanese tend todo less errors or irregularities.
