Abstract

Translation error cannot be assessed from how sentence structure of source text (ST) supposed to be produced or translated into target text (TT), but it is oriented to synchronization of cultural context as well as the meaning of both source text (ST) and target text (TT). This research is using qualitative approach with descriptive method. The writer has chosen the data based on the translation error found in A Lady Dances with Poetry (Love Poetry Selection) book. Mostly, the writer has applied modulation and transposition strategy, for the method, the writer dominantly uses is communicative translation method.The result of this research is recommended for other researchers who would like to analyze poetry translation from Indonesian language into English version, and vice versa.
