Abstract

A song is one of literary works that can relax people’s mind and represent people’s feelings. One of the things that can make a song more imaginative, beautiful, and interesting is the use of figurative language in its lyrics. But, the problem is not all the listeners are able to understand it. The aims of this research are to find out the types of figurative language used and the meaning consisted in The Greatest Showman Soundtracks Lyrics through Perrine’s theory. The researcher hopes this research will be useful for the song listeners and readers to get a better understanding about a song they are listening to which contains figurative language.
