Abstract

Humans are social creatures who require communication and interaction with others. Language is an essential communication tool for humans, and in this world there are many countries, each of which has its own language. Many people also master more than one language, which is called bilingual. As a bilingual individual, the phenomenon of mixing or switching from one language to another often occurs, known as code mixing and code switching. The research, entitled "Code Mixing And Code Switching Used By The Host And Guest Stars In The Indah G Show" aims to identify the types of code mixing and code switching used by the host and guest stars on the show. There are two main types of this phenomenon: code mixing and situational and metaphorical code switching. The purpose of this research is to determine the types most often used by hosts and guest stars. The methodology employed in this research is a qualitative descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Data was gathered from the utterances of hosts and guest stars in video podcasts uploaded on the YouTube channel The Indah G Show. This analysis aims to provide a more profound comprehension of language usage in the context of bilingual communication, particularly in digital media.
