Abstract

This term paper discusses about the influence of social class to the use of swear words in Dr. Dre’s rap songs. More specifically, the study analysis the swear words in Dr. Dre’s rap song using language variety and style and register, and the affection of the sociolinguistic study to the swear words in Dr. Dre’s rap song using social class from sociolinguistic study. Sociolinguistic theories are: social class, language variety, style and register. This study is qualitative range of research, types of linguistic research that analyze with method of data collection in the form of educational, environment, and income background of Dr. Dre as the primary source and supported by some linguistic sources related to the concept and theories. Skripsi ini membahas tentang pengaruh kelas sosial terhadap penggunaan kata-kata kasar dalam lagu rap Dr. Dre. Lebih spesifiknya, skripsi ini membahas tentang variasi bahasa, gaya dan register, dan pengaruh penelitian sosiolinguistik terhadap kata-kata kasar dalam lagu rap Dr. Dre dengan menggunakan kelas sosial dari penelitian sosiolinguistik. Teori sosiolinguistik yaitu: kelas sosial, variasi bahasa, gaya dan register. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif, jenis penelitian linguistik yang menganalisa dengan metode pengumpulan data berupa latar belakang pendidikan, lingkungan, dan pendapatan Dr. Dre sebagai sumber utama dan didukung oleh beberapa sumber linguistik yang berkaitan dengan konsep dan teori.
