Abstract
This term-paper discusses about the theme of a literary work of film by applying 2 (two) approaches; intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts are characterization using showing method, plot and setting. For the extrinsic approaches, there are American Dream and Love Concept by Erich Fromm. This tenn-paper explains about Forrest Gump as a person who has below average IQ struggling for love which leads into American Dream. Love is great motivation for Forrest. In this research, Forrest Gump movie and the script are the primary sources and supported by some of relevant theories, concepts, and definitions which are the secondary sources.
