Abstract
This paper discusses the theme of literary works by using a novel form of intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach there is applied the concepts: characterization, setting, and plot. And through extrinsic approach there is applied The Developmental of Child Psychology Theory by Elizabeth Hurlock This study is the variety of qualitative research, types of literature research, nature interpretative/ analytical methods of data collection in the form of literary texts from the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens as the primary source and is supported by some literatures related to the concepts and the definitions relevant as a secondary source.
