Abstract
This term paper discusses about a literary work especially a film. The problem that will be analyzed is the struggle of Jim to return the success with American Dream and Hierarchy of Needs. It wi11 be analyzed by using intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts applied are: characterization - showing method, setting, plot, and theme, and for the extrinsic approach, the concepts are: American Dream and Hierarchy of Needs. This tenn paper uses qualitative method by collecting data in a form of the film entitled Cinderella Man by Ron Howard as te primary source and is supported by some literature that related to the theories and concepts as the secondary sources. In this research it is proved that American Dream and the Hierarchy of Needs be a reflection of Jim's struggles to returns his success
