Abstract

This research aims to analyze the character Steve in the film Fresh (2022) based on Doctor Robert Hare's theory of psychopathy. Dr. Robert Hare's theory is that there are 20 characteristics of a Psychopath, but in this research only 8 traits were found in the character dialogue Superficial Charm and Grandiosity, Need for Stimulation and Proneness to Boredom, Pathological Lying and Manipulativeness, Lack of Remorse or Guilt, Shallow Affect and Lack of Empathy , Parasitic Lifestyle, Poor Behavioral Controls and Impulsivity, Failure to Accept Responsibility for Own Actions. Qualitative methods are used to classify all conversations within the characters based on Interpreting the results of the analysis to understand the extent to which the characters fulfill psychopathic traits. Identify behavioral patterns consistent with psychopathic traits. The results of the research showed that 31 data were found from 8 psychopathic traits in character according to Dr. Robert Hare's theory, the first being Superficial Charm and Grandiosity, there were 5 data. Both Need for Stimulation and Proneness to Boredom have 5 data. Thirdly, Pathological Lying and Manipulativeness have 4 data. The fourth Lack of Remorse or Guilt has 4 data. Fifthly, Shallow Affect and Lack of Empathy have 2 data. The sixth Parasitic Lifestyle has four data. The seventh Poor Behavioral Controls and Impulsivity has 6 data. Finally, Failure to Accept Responsibility for Own Actions was found in 5 data.
