Abstract
This study analyzes postfeminist representation in the character of Claressa Shields in the movie script The Fire Inside (2024) by Barry Jenkins using a feminist perspective. Based on Rosalind Gill’s postfeminism theory, the analysis focuses on Individualism, Choice, and Empowerment and Self-Surveillance and Discipline to examine the construction of femininity. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method through textual analysis of selected scenes and dialogues. The findings show that Claressa Shields is portrayed as an independent and disciplined woman whose femininity is shaped through personal choices, emotional control, and continuous selfmonitoring. Her empowerment is closely connected to discipline and performance, reflecting postfeminist values within contemporary cultural narratives.
