Abstract
This term-paper discusses about the theme of a literary work, a novel by applying two approaches: intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concepts are: characterization by using showing and telling methods, plot and setting. For the extrinsic approach is a concept of psychology, that is obsessive love concept. This term-paper discusses the character, Rob Hoyle, who has obsessive love toward David Martin. In this research, Behind Her Eyes novel is the primary sources and supported by some of relevant theories, concepts, and definitions which as secondary sources.
