Abstract
This term-paper discusses about the theme of a movie script. Two approaches, intrinsic and extrinsic approaches, are applied to analyze this movie script. The concepts that are applied to analyze through intrinsic approach consist of characterization by using showing and telling methods, plot and setting. The concept that is applied to analyze through extrinsic approach is theory of love. This research explains about the reflection of love theories among main character, Bert as well as its relation to other intrinsic elements. In this research, movie script What They Had is the primary sources and supported by some of relevant theories, concepts, and definitions which as secondary sources.
