Abstract

This paper discusses the theme of the Green Book movie script by using an intrinsic and extrinsic approach. Through an intrinsic approach, concepts are applied: theme, characterization, plot and setting. And through an extrinsic approach. Racial Discrimination Theory on Don Shirley's character. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method because the results of the data analyzed were in the form of descriptive phenomena such as words, sentences and language. The object of this research is the Green Book by Nick Vallelonga. The movie script tells the story of Don Shirley who is black, who feels discrimination everywhere. Don Shirley has problems with social rejection and prejudice. This situation left him confused, embarrassed, and depressed. In this film script here represents about Don Shirley who tried to fight discrimination by organizing a concert tour.
