Abstract

This study aims to analyze the movie script by using an intrinsic and extrinsic approach. The intrinsic approach used to analyze the data is delusional theory. While the concept used to analyze the data is the concept of psychology. The research approach used in this study is a qualitative approach. This research was conducted using data collection methods derived from the film script I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Charlie Kaufman which was also supported by watching the film to support this research. I'm Thinking of Ending Things is a story that tells of a janitor who has delusions because he really wants to have the life he wants. After I analyzed this movie script, I can conclude that in analyzing the movie script I'm Thinking of Ending Things I can use an intrinsic approach. To understand some of the characterizations in this movie script, I use the show method. In the main character that I analyze in this movie script, he has a disorder that can be called a delusional disorder. Through the movie script, I'm Thinking of Ending Things by Charlie Kaufman, I learned about someone who really wants something, but in reality, he can't, it can cause serious problems for mental health.
