Abstract

This paper discusses the theme of Love Simon movie script using instrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the instrinsic approach applied concept: theme, characterization, plot and setting. And through an extrinsic approach. Inner Conflict theory and Homosexuality theory are analyzed on Simon’s character. The approach of the research that used in this research that used in qualitative approach. This research is conducted by using descriptive qualitative method because the result of the data analysed is in descriptive phenomenon such as words, sentece and language. The object of this research is Love Simon by Becky Albertalli. The movie script tells about Simon has homosexuality. he hides his identity as homosexuality and likes a mysterious man on gmail. Simon got problem in himself in two ways: inner conflict and homosexuality. This situation gives him confused, worried, ashamed and pressured. In this movie script here representing about Simon trying to cover up his identity as homosexuality.
