Abstract

Music is one of the device to express our feelings, especially Song. In song, sometimes we find the lyrics that represent our feeling, and we find a connection with it. The language use in song lyrics usually is similar to a poem. One of the things that can make the song lyrics powerful is the use of figurative language in it, so it sounds more interesting for the listener. But the main problem is not everyone can understand what the meaning on it. This research purpose is to analyze the use of figurative language in Linkin Park’s (One More Light) Album through Knickerbocker and Reninnger theory (1963). In addition, it finds out the meaning consisted. The researcher hopes that this research will help the reader to get a better understanding about a song they are listening which contains figurative language.
