Abstract

This term paper discusses about The Assimilation on Meghan Trainor’s Singing articulation through Phonology Approach from Peter Roach. In this research, I will analyze how assimilation occurs in 10 songs of Meghan Trainor. I also try to find what are the most types of assimilation happens in her singing articulation through three types of assimilation; progressive, regressive, and reciprocal. I will analyze how assimilation process in her singing articulation, happens through phonology approaches; vowel and consonant. Then, consonant changes will be connected in place of articulation, manner of articulation, and voicing. After that, vowel changes will be connected in weak and strong syllable. This term paper is a qualitative research with a method that takes in the form of audio and analysis based on Phonology book from Peter Roach. Key words: Phoneme, Assimilation, and Articulation. Skripsi ini membahas asimilasi pada artikulasi nyanyian Meghan Trainor melalui aspek fonologi dari Peter Roach. Penelitian ini, saya akan menganalisis bagaimana asimilasi terjadi dalam 10 lagu Meghan Trainor.Saya juga mencoba menemukan jenis asimilasi apa yang terjadi dalam 10 lagu Meghan Trainor. Dalam tiga jenis asimilasi yaitu; progresif, regresif, dan resiprokal. Saya juga menganalisis bagaimana proses asimilasi bekerja di artikulasi nyanyian Meghan Trainor, ini dianalisis melalui pendekatan fonologi yaitu; vowel dan consonant. Kemudian perubahan konsonan akan dihubungkan dengan cara berartikulasi, tempat berartikulasi, dan suara. Setelah itu, perubahan vowel akan dihubungkan dalam suku kata lemah dan kuat. Skripsi ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode yang diambil dari bentuk audio dan dianalisis melalui buku fonologi dari Peter Roach. Kata kunci : fonem, asimilasi, artikulasi.
