Abstract
This term-paper discussabout theme and character of a novel. Two approaches, intrinsic and extrinsic, are applied to analyze this novel. The concepts that is applied to analyze through intrinsic approach consists of characterization by using telling and showing methods, plot and setting. The concept to analyse through extrinsic approach istheory of love and death instinct. This research explains about the reflection of theory of love and death instinct on characterFinn McQuaidas well as its relation to other intrinsic elements. In this research,Bring Me Backnovelis the primary sources and supported by some of relevant theories, concepts, and definitions which as secondary sources.
