Abstract
This term paper discuss about the theme of a movie script using the intrinsic and extrinsic approach. Through the intrinsic approach are applied concepts: characterization, plot, and setting. Through the extrinsic approach is Psychology of literature theory through Death Instinct and Classification of Emotions (Sadness and Shame Feeling) concepts. Death Instinct and Classification of Emotions consists of characterization, plot, and setting. Arvin, Willard, and Roy are reflections of the concept of Death Instinct while Willard and Preston are expressions of Classification of Emotions. These characters reflect the nature of Death Instinct and Classification of Emotions. This study is the variety of qualitative research using the method of data collection in the form of literary texts from the movie script “The Devil All The Time” by Antonio Campos as a primary source and supported by some of the literatures to relate the theory, concept and the relevant definition as a secondary source.
