Abstract

This analysis is discussing a script of Silver Linings Playbook directed by David O. Russell. The script tells about Patrizio „Pat‟ Solitano Jr. He is spending 8 months in psychiatric facility after having a problem with his wife. He feels anxious about that he will not be able to rebuild his marriage with his wife. This term of paper focuses on a theme of literary works of this script by using intrinsic and extrinsic approach. Through intrinsic approach, there are the concepts that applies; characterization, plot, and setting. Through extrinsic approach, there are psychology of literature of anxiety and displacement. It is using the qualitative research, types of library research, interpretative analysis using method of data collection in the form of script from Silver Linings Playbook as the primary resource and supported by some of the literatures to relate the theories, concepts, and the relevant definition as a secondary source.
