Abstract
This term paper explains about a literary work, especially a film. The problem that will be analyzed is psychology of literature by using the analysis of the theme that through intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through intrinsic approaches, the theories that I use are the theory of characterization, setting, and plot. As for extrinsic approach, the theory that I use is theory of Sigmund Freud’s death instinct. This term paper is a qualitative research and types of library research. The interpretative analysis that I use is the method by collecting data in the form of literary texts from a movie titled The Nice Guys as Shane Black’s work as the primary source. It is supported by some of the literatures that relate to the theories, concepts and the relevant definition as the secondary sources. Keywords: Intrinsic Approaches, Extrinsic Approach, and Death Instinct. Skripsi ini menjelaskan tentang karya sastra, terutama film. Masalah yang akan dianalisis adalah psikologi sastra dengan menggunakan analisis tema yang melalui pendekatan intrinsik dan ekstrinsik. Melalui pendekatan intrinsik, teori yang saya gunakan adalah teori karakterisasi, pengaturan, dan plot. Adapun pendekatan ekstrinsik, teori yang saya gunakan adalah teori naluri kematian Sigmund Freud. Skripsi ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dan jenis penelitian perpustakaan. Analisis interpretatif yang saya gunakan adalah metode dengan mengumpulkan data dalam bentuk teks sastra dari film berjudul The Nice Guys sebagai karya Shane Black sebagai sumber utama. Itu didukung oleh beberapa literatur yang berhubungan dengan teori, konsep dan definisi yang relevan sebagai sumber sekunder. Kata kunci: Pendekatan Intrinsik, Pendekatan Ekstrinsik, dan Naluri Kematian.
