Abstract

This study analyzes Ron Stallworth's efforts to fight racial discrimination in Colorado in the 1970s in the movie script "BlacKkKlansman". I used both intrinsic and extrinsic approaches in analyzing this work. The intrinsic approach consists of characterization, plot, setting and theme. Then for the extrinsic approach, I analyzed it using the sociology of literature with genetic structuralism. The research method that I use is a qualitative method, because qualitative research focuses on aspects of interpretive understanding of human experience. The object of research that I use is Ron Stallworth who is the main character in the film script "BlacKkKlansman" and is supported by several other sources. The theme of this movie was developed using the results of the analysis of the intrinsic approach and extrinsic approach. All elements have elaborations to support the film's theme. Genetic structuralism has four concepts, namely human facts, collective subject, world view, and literary work structure. I analyze Ron Stallworth's character by using two concepts of genetic structuralism, namely human facts and world views. The result of this research is that Ron Stallworth managed to complete his duties so well that he was able to make the white police officers there appreciate him.
