Abstract
This term paper discusses about Human Needs through the Main Character in Delia Owens’ Novel Where the Crawdads Sing. The discussion is about the theme of literary work by applying two approaches; intrinsic and extrinsic approaches. Through the intrinsic approach, the concept are; characterization, plot, and setting. For the extrinsic approach, the writer uses Maslow’s Theory of Hierarchy of Human Needs. This term paper discusses the character of little girl who lives and survive alone in the marsh as the main character in this novel. Brave and ambition make the main character able to fulfill all the five of hierarchy of needs. In this research, Where the Crawdads Sing novel is the primary source and supported by some of the books, journals, literatures, and internet websites which as the secondary sources.
