Abstract
This study discusses a novel of All the Bright Places written by Jennifer Niven which tells about a young man named Theodore Finch. He feels anxious and afraid from the past scars because of physical abuse from his father. Theodore had Bipolar Disorder and getting a dark mood, as he try to divide his mind as the savior or to giving up his life. This term paper discusses about the theme of literary works of the novel by using intrinsic and extrinsic approach. Through the intrinsic approaches are applied concepts: characterizations, plot and setting. Through the extrinsic approaches are psychology of literature of anxiety and repression. This study are variety of qualitative research, types of library research, interpretative analysis using the method of data collection in the form of the literary texts from the novel of All The Bright Places as primary source and supported by some of the literatures to relate the theories, concepts and the relevant definitions as a secondary source.
